Michelle Obama Should Launch A 'Fight Obesity, Go Straight' Campaign, Bryan Fischer Claims

The American Family Association's Bryan Fischer suggested Michelle Obama revise her childhood obesity initiative to include an anti-gay component.
Fischer, whose opposition to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) causes is well-established, pointed to a National Institutes of Health study which will reportedly examine why lesbians have a higher obesity rate than both gay men and heterosexual women in his argument.
"I would suggest that if Michelle Obama really cares about obesity, she should be out there leading the charge against normalizing lesbianism," Fischer said, according to Right Wing Watch. The U.S. first lady, he added, "should be at the head of a campaign to convince women not to get into lesbianism. Her slogan ought to be 'Fight Obesity, Go Straight.'"
Fischer has previously condemned President Barack Obama's stance on same-sex marriage and other LGBT rights.
"Homosexuals do not have a constitutional right to engage in sodomy," Fischer said at the time. Noting that sodomy was a felony for the first 200 years of America’s history, he added, “It’s absurd in the extreme, it’s ridiculous, it’s ludicrous for homosexuals to claim that they have some kind of constitutional right to engage in sexually deviant behavior."
