Make Sex Less Painful

How to turn the ouch back into ahh!!!!!

Sex is supposed to feel good—like, toe-curling, spine-tingling, back-arching good. But recent research shows a whopping 30 percent of women are experiencing pain during the act. Though the hurt could be a symptom of a serious issue such as endometriosis, more often the cause is less grave. "Most conditions that cause painful intercourse are very treatable," says Debby Herbenick, Ph.D., associate director of the Center for Sexual Health Promotion at Indiana University. Read on to find sex-wrecking culprits and their cures.
It feels like his penis is made of sandpaper.
Likely culprit: Vaginal dryness. "A lack of lubrication is hands down the most common cause of painful sex," says Herbenick. Certain meds—including the Pill, antidepressants, and some allergy and cold drugs—can stop your juices from flowing. So can a pre-sex soak in a warm bath, which dries out vaginal tissue.
The fix: Apply a dollop of water-based lubricant to your girl parts during foreplay. An Indiana University study found that women who used lube while doing the deed reported significantly less pain and—bonus!—much higher levels of satisfaction. Opt for positions that allow you to control the pacing (like woman on top) and stop to reapply if needed.
Your genitals itch like crazy, and penetration just makes it feel worse.
Likely culprit: Though various conditions can lead to under-there itchiness, the most common cause is a yeast infection, which may result from taking antibiotics. Research also suggests a link between lots of oral sex and recurrent yeast infections; women who suffer the condition are three times as likely to be on the receiving end of frequent oral loving.
The fix: Self-diagnosis is inaccurate 66 percent of the time, so it's wise to see your doctor to rule out other causes, especially if you've never had a yeast infection before. Meanwhile, put sex on hold for a few days. While your guy can't catch the actual infection, he may develop temporary itching or a rash on his penis.
It seems as if he's going to burst through your cervix.
Likely culprit: No, he's not too big for you (most tab A's can fit into slot B's). You're probably just rushing things. "Many women think that if they feel excited, then they're ready for sex," says Herbenick. "But your body needs time to lift the uterus and make room for the vagina to expand. The latter can stretch from four inches long to a fully aroused seven inches."
The fix: Don't skimp on the pregame warm-up. Most women need a good 20 minutes of foreplay to make sure their parts are ready for action. Listen up, fast trackers: Simply adding lube isn't a good shortcut. "It might make entry easier, but it won't change the length or shape of your vagina," says Herbenick.
Post-baby nookie leaves you achy and raw.
Likely culprit: New moms, especially those who are breastfeeding, can experience plummeting estrogen levels that leave the vagina drier than the Sahara and the vaginal walls prone to tearing. Scar tissue on a poorly healed episiotomy can also cause penetration woes.
The fix: Take a break from intercourse for a while. Even if your doctor gave you the go-ahead after six weeks, know that many women aren't physically ready for three months or longer, says ob-gyn Elizabeth G. Stewart, M.D., author of The V Book. Applying a low-dose prescription estrogen cream may help with dryness and make vaginal tissue more elastic (it's safe to use while breastfeeding). Plus, use plenty of lube.
It feels as if shards of glass are cutting up the outer area of your vagina.
Likely culprit: ulvodynia, a possible nervous-system disorder. It affects up to 16 percent of women and is notoriously difficult to identify. Doctors often misdiagnose it as a yeast infection.
The fix: Prescription lidocaine might help control nerve sensitivity; so might specialized physical therapy. You may also get some DIY relief from a vibrator. Research shows that using one may confuse nerve endings and quell the hurt. Harsh chemicals in personal-care products can make matters worse, so buy fragrance-free soaps.
Your vagina acts like a Venus flytrap. The second he tries to enter, it clamps shut.
Likely culprit: Vaginismus. This painful but treatable condition causes the muscles at the entrance to the vagina to spasm at penetration, making intercourse all but impossible in severe cases.
The fix: Experts aren't sure what causes the condition, but they do know what helps: stretching exercises that begin with inserting a tampon or a finger and slowly working up to intercourse. Your doctor might also prescribe pelvic-floor physical therapy to break down muscle knots through massage (yes, really!). New research shows that Botox injections also work to relax overactive vaginal muscles.
You get an itchy, hivelike rash around your vulva after sex.
Likely culprit:
An allergic reaction, probably due to latex condoms. If you didn't wrap it up, you might be allergic to your partner's semen—which is the case for up to an estimated 40,000 women in the United States.
The fix: Choose synthetic-rubber or natural lambskin condoms (just know they don't offer as much protection against sexually transmitted infections as latex ones do). If you're in a committed relationship and yours is a semen allergy, good news: The cure is more sex, not less. During a simple outpatient procedure, a doctor inserts diluted semen into your vagina over the course of several hours in order to build up desensitization. Afterward, you need to get it on every two days for a few weeks, then every three days for several months to build up your tolerance, says David J. Resnick, M.D., director of allergy at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. If that sounds too intense, start using rubbers.

Former Casualty actress Rebekah Gibbs has died from cancer.
The 41-year-old played paramedic Nina Farr for more than 100 episodes of the BBC medical drama between 2004 and 2006.
Her agent Belfield and Ward tweeted the news: "Darling Rebekah Gibbs, a true inspiration and dazzling light, never to be forgotten."
She left Casualty to have a family and was diagnosed with cancer after the birth of her daughter in 2008.
Gibbs was just weeks away from giving birth when she first noticed a lump in her breast.
Doctors were reassuring and said it would be benign.

But just months after having baby Gigi and after pushing for further treatment because she felt something was wrong, the actress was told she had a particularly aggressive cancer.
Speaking to the BBC in 2010 when she had celebrated two years of being cancer free, she said that she didn't take anything for granted.
"I won't get cocky though and I take each day as it comes. I am always a little unsure about the future," she said.
She wrote about her experience of breast cancer in a weekly column forthe Daily Mirror, saying the exact moment she found the lump was "one that will be etched on my memory forever".
"I close my eyes, and I am right back there, in front of the TV, feeling petrified as I desperately run my finger above my baby bump and under my breast, willing the lump to disappear.
"That crushing fear has stayed with me. It's with me every day."

The actress, who also appeared in The Bill and on stage in A Chorus Line, Grease and Starlight Express, was given the five year all clear in April 2013.
She said she was "really content" to have reached the milestone but in August she had a seizure while on holiday in Devon.
She was taken to hospital and was diagnosed with two brain tumours.
Her husband Ashley Pitman said she died in the early hours of Wednesday at The Hospice in the Weald in Kent with family by her side.
In a statement he said: "Rebekah had wonderful care and felt loved and safe right up until the end, especially with the outstanding nursing staff at the Hospice in the Weald, who were exceptional.
"I'd like to thank them and her dear, loving friends, from the bottom of my heart for all the love and support we received over the last year. Without which Rebekah and I would not have been able to cope.
"I'd also like to thank everyone for their kind wishes and messages at this difficult time. My daughter and I take a great deal of comfort from this as we come to terms with life without our Rebekah."
James Redmond, who starred with Gibbs in Casualty tweeted: "So sad to hear lovely Rebekah Gibbs has passed away. She lit up every room with her smile and positivity. R.I.P."
Coronation Street actress Hayley Tamaddon tweeted: "My dear friend passed away today. A true star, always smiling and so positive.

Luiz Adriano has been in Ukraine for more than seven years, winning the 2009 UEFA Cup, six league titles, four Ukrainian Cups and three Ukrainian Super Cups with FC Shakhtar Donetsk. He was top scorer in the 2013/14 Ukrainian Premier League and has found the net 120 times in all competitions for the Pitmen. However, it is only now that the 27-year-old – in line to make his senior Brazil debut this week – is receiving Europe-wide attention. UEFA.com introduces a UEFA Champions League record-breaker.

• Recorded his first UEFA Champions League hat-trick in the 5-2 triumph over FC Nordsjælland on 20 November 2012. However, he was later charged with a violation of the principles of conduct because of the manner in which he scored his first goal and suspended for one fixture.
• Won his sixth league title – and fifth in a row – with Shakhtar last term, finishing as the leading marksman in the Ukrainian Premier League with 20 goals to his name.
• Became only the second player – after Lionel Messi – to hit five goals in one UEFA Champions League game, in Shakhtar's 7-0 defeat of FC BATE Borisov on matchday three this season. Simultaneously passed Andriy Vorobey (114 goals) as Shakhtar's all-time leading scorer.
• Scored another three against BATE on matchday four, becoming only the fourth player – after Messi (4), Filippo Inzaghi (3) and Mario Gomez (3) – to score more than two UEFA Champions League hat-tricks.
• Requires one more goal to surpass Cristiano Ronaldo's record of nine in a single group stage, set last season.

Romeo Castelen ready to turn on the style for Western Sydney Wanderers

FOR weeks on end he has kicked his heels - a frustrated spectator as his teammates have gone on to be champions of Asia.
But finally Romeo Castelen gets the chance of a leading role, as the Wanderers bid to pull their A-League campaign out of a rut on Saturday night in Perth.
The 31-year-old Dutchman hopes for only his third start for Western Sydney at the weekend, having signed just too late for inclusion in the Asian Champions League.
But any irritation at being sidelined has quickly become motivation at the prospect of taking part in the Club World Cup, and a possible date with Real Madrid.
“It’s been very hard, I was here at the very beginning but I knew I would not be able to play in any of the games in the ACL,” Castelen said.
“At the time you think, that’s just how it is. But then the guys are training for a specific game, doing all the preparation, so it was difficult.
“But equally they made me very happy, because of the boys I get to play in the Club World Cup. Everybody gets the chance to help the team out and I’m so happy to the boys for winning the Asian championship.
“It gives us a big stage to show ourselves and put the club in a bigger spotlight.
The fitness levels and performances still expected to come from Castelen are one of the reasons why Tony Popovic remains unconcerned about Western Sydney’s winless start to the season.
The player himself predicts an almost immediate improvement, and is likely to get the run of games he craves as one of the freshest members of the squad.
“As a footballer, the more games you get the more fit you are and the more in tune with the team,” he said. “It takes time, but in a couple of weeks I think I will be ready. “I’m not the sort of player who needs a lot of games to hit my stride, already I’m looking forward to the next game.
“I’ve not had regular games, it’s been a few weeks to get a run again [between the Sydney derby and Phoenix last weekend] til I get a run again.
“It’s been a bit different, but now there is the chance of a lot of games one after the other. Now I can really enjoy myself, get my shape back and get into form.”
At least he will have got through the two toughest away trips in quick succession, with the trip to Perth preceded by that eye-opening journey to Wellington.
“It’s a difficult thing in Australia, now I’ve had my first major trip I know what the boys are going through playing in Asia midweek and flying back,” he said.
“It’s very tough, which makes what they achieved all the bigger. But now all the players are back, and the ACL is behind us, we can focus on the A-League.
“It’s never nice to lose games, but it’s a huge boost just knowing we are the champions of Asia. We have to switch on to a new competition, basically start all over again. We have to prove ourselves on the pitch, and we will get better over time.”

11 Ways to Make Doggy Style Even SEXIER

We like to think of doggy style as the original bad girl sex position. There's something a little wild, naughty, and titillating about it that just amps up the passion and makes you lust for more. Plus, it feels freaking amazing.
"You can get the deepest penetration possible in this position, and you can also reach the G-spot," says Ava Cadell, Ph.D., author of Neurolovology. So if you're already a fan of this position, get ready to make it even more memorable. Here are 11 super-easy tweaks to raise the stakes:
Get Vertical
The classic doggy style set-up—kneeling on all fours—can feel great for a while, but eventually it may strain your body. "A lot of women complain that they get sore knees, or that it hurts their back or their neck," says Cadell. Fix that by getting off your knees and on your feet. Stand up and lean forward slightly against a wall, or bend over onto a table or a desk.
Use Pillows
Another surefire fix for rug burn on your knees: Prop yourself up with pillows, giving yourself a cushy foundation to rest on. Or lay completely flat on the bed and place a few pillows underneath your waist. This will create a great angle for him to enter you from behind, says Sadie Allison, Ph.D., author of The Mystery of the Undercover Clitoris
Get Out of the Bedroom
The best part about doggy style is that it doesn't require a bed—you can have sex all over the house. Try it in the shower, standing on a staircase while holding onto the bannister, or leaning over the kitchen counter. "My favorite is bending over a dryer that's on the spin cycle, so it's like a giant vibrator," says Cadell.
Skip the Strip
For a take-me-right-now kind of romp, pull up your dress or skirt and push aside your underwear, says Cadell. We promise, every time you wear this outfit, you'll have very fond memories.
Give Yourself a Hand
Using your fingers or a vibrator, stimulate your clitoris as your partner thrusts for a climax that's twice as powerful. In fact, this is one of the top ways to increase your orgasm chances during doggy style, says Allison.
  Bring in the Nipples
If you like breast stimulation, doggy style is the perfect position to incorporate them, says Cadell. Grab your partner's hands and place them on your breasts. Then, by keeping your hands over his, you can show him exactly how you want him to fondle you. Think of this as naughty show and tell.
Turn Up the Volume
During doggy style, "a lot of women feel more uninhibited because the guy can't see her face," explains Cadell. So let it go: Moan, grunt, talk dirty, and do all the things that you may be too shy to do in missionary position.
Get a View
Position yourself in front of a mirror so you and your partner can sneak a peak at each other from another angle, says Allison. And don't be surprised if it inspires you to put on a show. Toss your hair, arch your back a little more, and catch his eyes for a sultry look.

Go Out of Bounds
If you're into it, this is the easiest position to switch from vaginal sex to backdoor play, says Cadell. Just make sure to switch the condom to avoid infection, and if it's your first time, be sure to use plenty of lube and goslow.
Make it Sensual
Who says doggy style has to be rough all the time? Make it a little more romantic by opting for a side-to-side position—like spooning—or getting into position in the bathtub, suggests Cadell.
Take Control
Though it sometimes seems like your partner is calling the shots in this position, there's plenty you can do to take the reins. Arching your back more or less will let you control the depth (arching less won't let him go as deep), says Alison. Or you can reach behind and grab his hips to help control the speed of his thrusts.

Only Beyonce Could Turn The Eiffel Tower Into Merely The Backdrop Of A Family Portrait

I'd recognize these silhouettes anywhere. But the background? Hmmm looks vaguely familiar I guess.
Beyonce may not be that into Twitter, but she is definitely the queen of Instagram. Just take a look at this photo of one of the most photographed, touristy spots in the world—The Eiffel Tower. Was Beyonce content to post a picture of the iconic La Tour Eiffel? Nah. Instead, she turned it into one of the most legitimately beautiful, intimate portraits of her family that we’ve seen yet.

Rick Ross And Jay Z Are At It Again: Listen To ‘Movin’ Bass’

The two heavyweights team up once again.
Rick Ross and Jay Z have quite a history together, and they added to that history on Tuesday (November 11) with their new song, “Movin’ Bass.”
The Timbaland-produced track is a pounding play on words, as it references both selling music (bass) and drugs (base). Hov handles the hook duties and doesn’t kick a verse — like he has on previous collabs — but instead leaves that to Rozay, whose gruff flow carries the track.
“Grammy-nominated once, but I’m still moving bass,” Ricky raps, before Jay adds his chorus: “Record jumping out the store, still moving bass.”
What do you think? How does this compare to their past work, like “Maybach Music,” “F–kWithMeYouKnowIGotIt” and “Free Mason”?

The song will be included on Ross’ upcoming album, Hood Billionaire, due out November 24.

Matt Damon confirms Bourne return

Years of rumours were finally put to bed recently when news broke that Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass would be reuniting for another Bourne film, and now Damon himself has confirmed that it's all systems go for the next instalment of the action franchise.

It had seemed that any such reunion was unlikely, particularly after Jeremy Renner had been drafted in to take the series in a new direction, but now Damon has confirmed that Jason Bourne will be taking centre stage once more.

“Yes, next year,” said Damon, when asked by E! Online whether he would be shooting a new Bourne film. “It’ll be in 2016 when the movie will actually come out.”

“Paul Greengrass is going to do another one and that’s all I ever said,” continues the star. “I just needed him to say ‘yes’.”

Universal has yet to confirm an official release date for the film, but with cameras set to roll next year, and 2016 pencilled into the slate, it looks like we won’t have too long to wait to see Bourne taking names and snapping necks once more

Portugal Legionnaires' disease outbreak kills five

An outbreak of Legionnaires' disease has killed five people and infected more than 230 others in Portugal, the authorities there say.
Most of the cases have been in Vila Franca de Xira, a town about 25km (16 miles) north-east of Lisbon.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) says the outbreak constitutes a "major public health emergency".
Legionnaires' disease is a pneumonia-like lung infection caused by the legionella bacteria.
The source of the outbreak is yet to be found. Local media report that the bacteria has been discovered in a cooling tower in Vila Franca de Xira, but it is thought there may be other sources.
'Unusual and unexpected'
Thirty-eight people are being treated in intensive care, officials say. Facilities in many of the capital's hospitals were stretched because of the outbreak, Portuguese media reported.
"This is the biggest Legionnaire's disease (outbreak) in Portugal and is considered a major public health emergency," WHO spokesman Christian Lindmeier said.
The outbreak was "unusual and unexpected", Mr Lindmeier added.
Portuguese President Anibal Cavaco Silva has expressed his condolences to the victims. He said the public should trust the health authorities to deal with the outbreak.

Legionnaires' disease is caught by inhaling infected water. The bacteria can grow in cooling towers, air conditioning and other artificial water supply systems.
It mostly affects people aged over 50, with those already in poor health most at risk.
It was first identified in the US in the 1970s following an outbreak at a hotel hosting a veteran organisation known as the American Legion.

Ebola outbreak: MSF says new Liberia tactics needed

People in protective gear
New rapid response tactics are needed to defeat the Ebola virus in Liberia, according to the charity Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF).
More than 6,600 people have been infected in the country, but figures suggest the number of new infections has started to fall.
MSF says it now has more hospital capacity than patients and called for a shift in tactics.
It wants rapid response teams to tackle Ebola hotspots when they flare up.
Liberia has been the worst-hit country in the Ebola epidemic with nearly half of all cases.
However, it is the first to begin to turn around its fortunes - the rate of new infections is continuing to increase in Guinea and Sierra Leone.
The World Health Organization said it was feeling confident that it was getting the upper hand on the virus in Liberia.
MSF said that its treatment centre in the capital Monrovia had 250 beds but was treating just 50 patients.
Meanwhile a site in Foya, in the north of the country, has not had a single patient since 30 October.
Ebola cases
map of areas affected by Ebola
MSF's head of operations in Liberia, Fasil Tezera, said: "The international response is finally getting off the ground.
"Isolation units in Monrovia and some other parts of the country now have adequate capacity and we must adapt the strategy if we want to stay ahead of the curve and beat the epidemic."
Sudden outbreaks of Ebola will continue to emerge in towns and villages in Liberia as the epidemic progresses.
Mr Tezera said: "Priority should be given to a more flexible approach that allows a rapid response to new outbreaks and gets the regular healthcare system safely up and running again."
Such teams would specialise in isolating patients, tracing those who came into contact with the sick, organising safe burials, decontamination and mobilising local communities.
US, Britain and other countries have been building treatment centres and training healthcare workers in the affected countries.
Hospitals
Alongside these teams, MSF called for efforts to support the few remaining hospitals in the country.
It is setting up Ebola screening points next to hospitals so that fear of Ebola does not force them to close.
In order to achieve their new strategy, MSF is calling on governments to be more flexible with the money they pledge to tackling Ebola.
Dr Nico Heijenberg, the MSF emergency coordinator, said: "Much of the international aid funding for the Ebola response is earmarked for specific projects.
"Instead, international donors and implementing organisations should deploy their resources with flexibility so that they can be used where they are needed most."
However, there remains concern that the number of cases could go up again in Liberia. There have already been false dawns in Guinea, where the number of patients increased following earlier drops in hospital admissions.
Meanwhile in Liberia, President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf says four soldiers and their commanding officer will be punished after a boy was killed during protests against quarantine measures in Monrovia.
The boy was shot and others were injured in the incident in August.
A disciplinary board found the soldiers were "guilty of indiscretion and exhibited indiscipline".

Boko Haram crisis: Nigeria fury over US arms refusal

Nigeria's ambassador to the US has criticised Washington for refusing to sell his government "lethal" weapons to fight militant Islamists.
Nigeria needed support to deliver the "killer punch", not "light jabs" against the Boko Haram group, Adebowale Ibidapo Adefuye said.
His comments came as the militants seized the north-eastern Mahia town.
The US has previously ruled out heavily arming the Nigerian military because of its alleged poor human rights record.
Meanwhile, Nigeria's President Goodluck Jonathan has formally declared himself as the governing People's Democratic Party's candidate (PDP) presidential candidate for February's election at a colourful ceremony in the capital, Abuja.

There is no use giving us the type of support that enables us to deliver light jabs”

The attack has highlighted the depth of the crisis escalating in the north-east, the BBC's Nigeria correspondent Will Ross reports.
But the politicians of all parties appear more focused on the pursuit of power in oil-rich Nigeria and that is playing right into the hands of Boko Haram, he says.
'Rumours'
Government soldiers have been accused by rights groups of carrying out many atrocities, including torturing and executing suspects.
US laws ban the sale of lethal weapons to countries whose military are accused of gross human rights abuses.
MapAdamawa, Borno and Yobe have been under emergency rule since May 2013
But Mr Adefuye said the accusations were based on "half-truths", rumours and exaggerated accounts, which were being spread by political opponents ahead of the elections.
"The US government has up till today refused to grant Nigeria's request to purchase lethal equipment that would have brought down the terrorists within a short time,'' Mr Adefuye told members of the Washington-based Council on Foreign Relations.
"We find it difficult to understand how and why, in spite of the US presence in Nigeria with their sophisticated military technology, Boko Haram should be expanding and becoming more deadly,'' he added.

Mr Adefuye said Boko Haram was Nigeria's equivalent of the Islamic State group, and threatened the nation's "territorial integrity".
"There is no use giving us the type of support that enables us to deliver light jabs to the terrorists when what we need to give them is the killer punch," he said.
"A friend in need is a friend indeed. The true test of friendship is in times of adversity," he added.

Boko Haram has recently changed tactics, focusing on holding on to territory rather than launching hit-and-run raids.
It has now captured Mahia to add to the territory the group already controls, our reporter says.
It is a small town near Mubi, the second largest town in Adamawa state, which Boko Haram last week renamed Madinatul Islam - City of Islam.
In April, Boko Haram sparked global outrage by abducting more than 200 girls from a boarding school in Chibok town in Borno state.
Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau has dismissed government claims to have agreed a ceasefire, under which the girls would be released.
He says the children have converted to Islam, are learning to memorise the Koran and have been married off.
The US, China, UK and Israel had promised to help Nigeria track down the girls.
